The training program "International Relation and European Integration" has been running since 1995. In 2005 ESD launched a scholarship program in co-operation with Estonian and Finnish ministries of foreign affairs and the Swedish International Development Co-operation Agency (SIDA). The idea was to apply the already existing and well funtioning training program "International Relationas and European Integration" to young diplomats, civil servants of Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. Thus the study group became international and English was made as langugae of instruction. In 2011 the scope of countries was extended to include applicants from all Eastern Partnership countries: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine. Since then more than 70 scholarship students have successfully graduated and benefitted from the program. ESD scholarship graduates have sucessfully continued their careers in state institutions, private and non-governmental sector or continued in academic field.
