International Relations and European Integration

The course consists of three modules:

  • International relations
  • European political and economic integration
  • Diplomacy

     

Study system in 2013/2014

  • All classes will be held at ESD classroom in Estonian National Library (Tõnismägi street 2), Tallinn. Studies are divided between class work (lectures and seminars) and independent work. Students are expected to attend all compolsory classes and the courses selected by them as optional courses.
  • The programme runs 2 semesters through one academic year. Assessment is held in the end of all subjects. Forms of assessment: exam, essay, test or class attendance.
  • The exams are graded according to common evaluation system for institutions of higher education on scale:
    • "A" - "excellent“
    • "B"- "very good“
    • "C" - "good"
    • "D" - "satisfactory"
    • "E" - "poor"
    • "F" - "failed"
  • An exam is passed when at least  "poor" ("E") is granted. Courses with class attendance are graded as "passed" or "not passed".
  • In case of failure the student has the right of two retake exams per subject, called respectively: II and III attempts. 
  • The language of instruction is English
  • Number of studens in the study group: 28.
  • Duration of studies:
    I semester 17 September - 20 December 2013
    II semester 10 January - 23 May 2014
  • The studies are organized as full-time evening classes on 4 afternoons a week from 16:45 to 19:45. Independent work constitutes approximately 3/4 of the whole curriculum.

  • Successful graduates are awarded the ESD diploma and academic record.

The programme is considered completed when at least 60 credit points have been collected - 30 cp for compolsory courses (C) and 30 cp for optional courses (O). Optional courses can be chosen according to individual preference. The total amount of courses available in the program is 69.
